Show & Tell #2
Calling all artists & creatives in & around Sunderland!
We're hosting a live podcast recording, and we'd love for you to join us.
The recording will be themed like a 'Show and Tell' event, where you are invited to "step up to the microphone" and share more about your most recent projects / artworks.
Building on the success of our previous live-recorded podcast episodes, we want to keep developing a space where artists feel in safe company to share their work, and receive creative critique from other artists. A place to come together with other creatives for conversation, and to celebrate our practice.
Place: Port Independent
4 St. Thomas Street, Sunniside, Sunderland, SR1 1QD
Date: Sunday 8th December 2024
Time: 2:30pm - 5:30pm
Tickets are £5 + VAT - you can buy tickets on Eventbrite

Calling all scriptwriters, screenwriters, & performers in & around Sunderland!
ArtyParti presents 'Sunderland Scratch' - bringing together scriptwriters, screenwriters, & performers to test out scripts in progress.
We're keen to see regular scratch nights make a return to Sunderland, as we've seen the invaluable insight events like these can offer to writers on their work in progress. And we think Sunderland deserves a regular scratch night once again.
Come and join us to help make it happen.
For writers:
An opportunity to hear your writing read aloud (script in hand) by local performers, and receive feedback on your scripts in progess. We're looking specifically for scripts for theatre, screen, and audio - for poets, we would recommend looking at Sunderland's monthly poetry night "King Ink".
Writers, please send your work / extracts to JaySykesMedia@gmail.com by Wednesday 6th November 2024, so that we can share it with our performers to read in advance. Please limit your work to approx. 15-minutes maximum (approx. 10-15 pages of dialogue).

An opportunity to make connections with local playwrights and screenwriters, and to add material* to your voice reel and/or experience on your C.V. You should expect to receive scripts in advance of the event (approx. Thursday 7th November 2024) so that you have chance to read through in advance.
For guests:
A chance to enjoy unheard and unseen writing at an early stage, written by local writers and performed by local performers. You'll have the opportunity to give feedback to the writers on their works in progress, whilst have fun meeting members of Sunderland's creative community in the process.
* 'Sunderland Scratch' will be recorded for podcast output as part of the ArtyParti podcast. Please let me (producer Jay Sykes) know if you would not like your work to be recorded. This recording allows performers added value (a recording to be used as part of their voice reel) in exchange for giving up their time.
We're planning to make 'Scratch Sunderland' a seasonal event (four times a year) in partnership with Port Independent. We are using this first event to test out interest, and experiment with formatting. So we, much like the writers, are very much open to constructive feedback!
