About Folasade Fasoyiro
Since late 2019, Folasade has been writing free-form poetry using her profile on Instagram. Her work is often focused on the obvious and camouflaged dynamics of human philosophy as it relates to culture and habits. She uses her own personal experience as a foundation for her work.
Folasade's current writing pieces integrate her journey as a migrant, and experiences she has voluntarily supporting migrant families who have come to study or work in the Sunderland area and around the Northeast.
She graduated with a MA in childhood and youth studies at the University of Sunderland.
Her first theatre piece is titled; “Stripped”.
National Theatre's Public Acts
Folasade has been involved in 3 National Theatre’s Public Acts productions. While participating in the projects, she used her experience to write two poems published by the National Theatre Public Act in production booklets; the first was “Everyday Odysseus Heroes” (2023), during the Odyssey Part 4 and 5 project in the Fire Station Sunderland, and on the Olivier stage at the National Theatre in London. And the second “For Sunderland; Public Record” (2025), an ongoing community production by the National Theatre in Sunderland.”
